Last weekend saw KLTC members Jenna Gotts over in Liverpool at the rock 'N' roll weekend and Charlie Wilson, Mark Fountain, Jason Blackwell at the Can-But-Tri Enduro duathlon in Thetford forest.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series started in Liverpool in 2014 and has been an annual fixture on Gotts calendar, competing in every event in its 7-year history.

Becoming one of the biggest running festivals in northwest England, attracting more than 20,000 runners annually across all distances, this was unfortunately to be the last time the event will be run.

Gotts raced through the stunning waterfront and vibrant city centre, which included plenty of great music along the way from various artists and bands.

The musically themed race concludes with a finish festival and headline concert to celebrate competitors achievements.

Gotts full weekend consisted of the 5k on Saturday morning, half marathon on Sunday morning, and a mile on Sunday afternoon. Running the 5K and either the half or full marathon gains participants the remix medal, adding the 1 mile run on Sunday gains the encore medal.

Running the 5k with friends included lots of photos and generally enjoying the run and atmosphere, Gotts then took the half marathon seriously and ran 02:23:32 on Sunday morning, finishing back with friends for the final 1 mile Sunday afternoon followed by cocktails.

Wilson Fountain BlackwellWilson - Fountain - Blackwell

Back closer to home, over in Thetford forest saw Wilson, Fountain, and Blackwell competing in an all-new off-road enduro duathlon (run, bike, run) held by Can-But-Tri at the stunning High Lodge in the heart of the Forest.

The tri club trio had 3 hours to cover as many run-bike-run laps as possible, laps consisted of 2.5km run, 6.5km bike, 2.5km run. If the finish line was passed before the 3hr cut-off a final bike or lap was allowed.

Both the run and bike sections were all trail orientated, the bike route was suitable for mountain bikes, gravel bikes, or cyclocross bikes. Biking used some of high lodge's pre-existing paths consisting of one single track technical section in amongst the normal woodland tree roots, sand, gravel, and grass.

This was the first duathlon for Wilson and Fountain. First home, on a particularly warm autumn morning saw Fountain just missing out on 3rd place coming 4th, after completing 12 full laps, non-stop in 3hrs 8 mins, Blackwell 8th place, 11 laps in 2hrs 53mins, and Wilson 8 laps, 17th place in 3hrs 5 mins.

" This was my first duathlon and my first event with the Can-But-Tri company over at Thetford. From the outset, we were greeted very warmly by all the volunteers and the whole event was very well organised all the way through. The transition area, bike, and run routes were very clearly signposted or had a marshall to direct you the right way. It was an unusually warm and sunny autumn morning with the smell of public BBQs in the air! The run section felt flat (ish) as we ran through the forest woodland paths. The path contained a few tree roots to watch out for, but it was a beautiful scenic route. The bike took us on surprisingly fast gravel paths, sandy sections, and butt-breaking tree roots. My favorite section was a small single-track turning and twisting technical course. Even the tight corners were banked, for those brave enough to carry some speed around said course. All three of us would like to thank Can-But-Tri and its staff for a wonderful morning"
