Kings Lynn triathlon club are proud to announce they have been awarded the bronze Trimark accreditation which enables them to have an official junior section. The accreditation outlines that the club confirms it is a community club with a management committee, has a constitution, an active activity programme and a welfare officer. Junior coaches are DBS checked and the right safeguarding protocols and measures are in place to ensure the club is a safe place for young triathletes to enjoy the sport.

Two of the clubs newest members battled against the strong winds on Sunday to take part in their 1st Duathlon. The Ely course consisted of a 5km run, 25km cycle and a 5km run to finish. Dan Clarkson finished 27th overall and 5th in his age division in an awesome time of 1hour 46 mins. Julie Barrow was the 11th female to cross the finish line and 3rd in her age group, finishing in a superb time of 2hrs 4min.

Meanwhile, two club members headed over to long Sutton to run the very flat, wet and windy race organised by Sublime racing.
After many months of inactivity due to ongoing joint problems, Jemma Redhead set about to complete the half marathon. She amazed herself by finishing in 2hours 21mins. She admitted that she considered pulling out of the race at the 9 mile mark but two fellow runners encouraged her to stick with them. This comradery gave her the mental strength needed to finish the race, and in a time quicker than she had hoped for!

Stefan Sprawling grappled with the unrelenting head wind in this, his second ever 10km race. He was really happy with his finishing time of 1hr 21. Sprawling is in training for his biggest running challenge to date. In June, he will be running a half marathon as part of a relay team in the Holkham half triathlon.
