Last weekend held the sixth and final Can-But-Tri Winter Duathlon in the series. Representing KLTC on the day was Sharon Esldon, which was to be her first attempt at Duathlon. |
Can-But-Tri events take place in various locations across Norfolk and Suffolk in the heart of East Anglia. The venues they select provide a scenic backdrop offering some stunning views and great routes that also challenge your physical limits. They currently offer events in Stradbroke and at High Lodge in Thetford Forest, High Lodge was the venue for this duathlon. Ending the winter series from this company, the event was held entirely off-road with the bike section suitable for mountain, cyclocross, gravel, or hybrid (with off-road tyres) bikes. The run course took participants along woodland tracks combining sand, gravel, mud, grass, and puddles. Distances on the winter routes were 2.25km run / 7km bike / 2.25km run. Elsdon tackling the sometimes technical trail conditions boasting sand, tree routes, and uneven surfaces set a total time of 53:22 gaining 26th place overall. She thoroughly enjoyed her first duathlon, perhaps captured perfectly by the smile in her race photo from the day. Please view the Can-But-tri website for upcoming events for all abilities. |
