As the season slowly starts to come to an end (sigh), Lough was the setting for SRB's final triathlon of 2022. |
KLTC members were indeed out in force competing in the last event in the SBR Lincolnshire triathlon series at Louth. Many of our members have been present at all three events in the series, starting way back in a very chilly April over in Grantham. Events two saw us moving to the coastal delights of Skegvegas. This time representing our club on the day were Jason Blackwell, Mark Moden, Helen Melville, Charlie Wilson, Paul Freer, Alistair Doig, Sophie Doig, and Judith Berry. |

The Meridian Leisure Centre (MLC) in Louth was the setting for the sprint, (400m/18k-22k/5k), super-sprint (200m/8.25k-10.56k), or Aquabike event for our triathletes attending. Starting in the modern 25m heated pool, through transition, a short run down the hill to the bike mount line, where the bike section was a technical course and gave our KLTC members the chance to ride along some quiet Lincolnshire country roads. Back to transition and the run took them around footpaths in Louth and up an old, picturesque disused train line along railway walk, before crossing the finish line and receiving a well deserved medal. Competing in the sprint event, and first across the line for KLTC was Blackwell in 01:18:55 5th age group (A/G), Moden 01:21:26 14th A/G, A.Doig 01:24:02 20th A/G, Melville 01:24:37 3rd in A/G and 4th Female overall in the series, Freer 01:35:43 28th A/G, Wilson 01:52:32 35th A/G. Over in the super sprint event saw Berry place 3rd overall in 00:52:21, and finally, S.Doig opting for the Aquabike grabbed 3rd place A/G with 00:56:13. |
