Well that’s the first month of the year gone already!!!!
I want to thank everybody for your continued support of the club. Its great to see so many people resubscribing or indeed subscribing for the first time. With so many members it would be great if you could take the time to let everyone know what you have planned this year. Whether you intend to focus on fitness, tackle your first triathlon or go long for the first time please let the club know. Encouragement from like minded people is a great motivator. Just let us know on the Facebook page.
I would like to extend a massive thanks to Jess Cunningham who has put together a great coaching/ training schedule and to everyone who has given up their own time to support these sessions.
Whilst most of us are focusing on events much later in the year when the temperature is up around the double figure mark there is one member of the club who is already heading off on an amazing challenge. Pat Cooke-Rogers is about to begin the Montane Yukon Artic Ultra Challenge 2019 on a fat bike. As the tag line states this is ‘Quite simply the world’s coldest and toughest ultra race. Temperatures can drop as low as -40 deg C!!!!!!! Obviously I hope you all join me in sending good wishes and prayers that she completes the challenge and returns home safely. Pat you are truly amazing.
Safe training all.
