Brick sessions are a fundamental part of triathlon training. They condition you both mentally and physically for running off the bike.

This is one of our staple training sessions troughout the year and is varied across the year to compliment the triathlon season. During November we go BACK to BASICS - a chance to identify your weakness (Video analysis), work on your technique and get the basic right before we start to build our speed and distance during Dec through to April.
We have 2 lanes available and can accommodate a range of swim paces but this is not a learn-to-swim session (we do hold special front crawl sessions from time to time), so we ask that swimmers are able to confidently swim 100m front crawl unaided.
As a general guide, Lane 1 = 2:00min and over/100m, Lane 2 = sub 2:00min/100m (based on CSS times) but don't worry about distance as most drills are 50m and the main set typically involves 100/200m reps.
Swim drills will often require the use of a pull buoy, which are available to buy from the pool and can be used in general swim sessions, however we do also use fins and hand paddles from time to time which cannot. Don't worry if you don't have any of these though, we do have some spares you can borrow.
The pool is 25m with a depth of 0.9m at the shallow end and 3.4m at the deep end.
Due to popularity at various times throughout the year, we do have to implement a reservation system to avoid swimmers turning up to already-full lanes. Advance booking is only available to members, but non-members should be able to get an idea of how busy the session will be by looking at how many have registered. If it is your first time coming to this sessions, we would ask you to let us know so we can let our coaches know https://kltri.co.uk/contact-form
