- KLTC member Lewis Heard competed in the standard Olympic distance which comprised 1500m Open Water swim in Whitlingham Broad
- 38km open road bike
- 10km mostly off-road run around the stunning broad
Lewis was consistent across all three disciplines with a great time of 2:49:55.
His position was 114 out of 215 competitors and 16th in his age category.
Lewis said,
My A goal time was 2:45 and I scraped below my B goal time of 2:50.
It is a fantastic swimming venue in the warm waters, a fast-flowing bike course with enough elevation to keep it “honest” and a challenging but very picturesque run around the lake.
KLTC member Lynne Howlett competed in the Sprint event which was 750 metres open water swim followed by 18K bike ride on open roads followed by a 5K run around the lake.
Her finish time was a solid one in 1:47:34, her position was 138 out of 167 competitors and a great first finish in her age category.
KLTC member Brian Black enjoyed cycling to the venue and back from his home to spectate, a total distance of just over 150Km, a great training session for him.
